MTS can appear in Ministerial Staff examination

From 2016, MTS who have cleared the prescribed skill test can appear the Ministerial Staff Examination.
It has also been clarified that passing the said examination will have no effect in case of promotion for them in the next higher cadre. They will be eligible for promotion only after putting in the minimum qualified service in the grade.
However passing Ministerial Staff Exam will enable them to appear in Inspectors' Exam after their promotion in the higher grade in future.

This should fasten the promotion avenues for MTS.

What about RR?

After clearing Ministerial Staff exams, MTS cadre should be allowed to write ITI and then ITO exams.

What about Notice Server ? Why they will not get such opportunity ? what a falacy...though Notice Server is higher grade & pay than MTS, they are not getting the chance.....this is our India..

Pr.CCIT Delhi has given the consequential benefits to 12 ITI by promoting them on Ad-hoc basis to ITO today.

Why Sr TA should write again the ministerial exam? already qualified?

Is this cadre is some extra ordinary cadre. Why we are not demanding the welfare of some other old cadres already working in the deptt. I.e. casual worker, notice server, driver and hindi deptt. Are these cadres are not legitimate cadres. Why some people making hue n cry only for MTS although this cadre is meant for class iv work. Why some people intended to give imense important like they were recruited as class I cadre. Pls do not gave them false future.

Maximum newly direct recruited MTS are graduate qualification holder & they are assigned by the Head of Office to perform duties like TA. So,don't compare direct recruited MTS with promted from group D. Plz,give proper opportunity for promotion from MTS to TA

Need fasten promotion opportunity for direct recruited MTS

It is for those sr ta who have not qualified ministerial exam

Is govt called for recruitment of mts only possessing higher qualification. Mts recruitment needs lower qualification. Is it possible if they are gratuate or possessed higher qualifications, they may be assigned the duties of Group c,b or a cadres on mercy ground. Nobody compelled them to join as mts. If they joined as mts they must be ready to work accordingly. If they are well qualified , why they are not compete for other jobs. Why they join this service which is meant for the people for less qualifications. Are not they doing injustice by occupying the poSTS meant for others. If they joined in the lower cadre they must wait for their turn by appearing systematically in the deptt exams.

MTS posts basically a low qualified post meant for underprivileged are grabbed by the over qualified guys. When they come to the department as MTS, they should know their status.

shame on the people who are posting these abusive comments about MTS staffs, they have joined this department via proper and highly competitive exam through SSC. there is no question about their ability and dedication towards their job. they are taking huge workload in some of the offices. so don't post such stupid and hateful comments about them. at least they haven't joined the department by compensation ground like some other people. its the failure of the government that these qualified kids haven't got a job they deserved. don't blame them, blame the system.

what do you mean by Vacancy sale kar dete hai. Are you idiot?
Vacancies in TA cadre depend upon number of promotion from TA to Sr TA. when there are no eligible TAs available for promotion to the post of Sr TA from where vacancies will occure. note that only 25% of total vacancies ie 1/4th of vacancies arising in an year are to be filled by pomotion from group D / MTS.
So dont misguide others.

I joined d dept in Feb 2015 while others joined in Dec/Jan (2 months before me). Their SSC rank is much behind me. However due to my late joining I cleared my Skill test 6 months after them. Because of this circular, I am eligible for MS Exam and so are others who cleared before me 6 months back.
I wanted to know, if I clear it now in the very first time...is it going to make me Sr.TA sooner than others who couldnt clear it in the first attempt? or is the SSC Merit only goin to remain throughout my career with Income Tax Department?

The reason for posing this question is that
1. some seniors suggested it wont make any difference till I become TA+ another 2 years...because only aftr the duration of 4+2 years I am eligibe to become Sr.TA.

2. While some say..the one who clears first will become Sr.TA first irrespective of SSC merit( SSC Merit is only for first promotion not MS Exam)

3. Sr.TA doesnt come from Direct recruitment so the one who clears first doesnt matter. If he then clears Inspector exam..thn seniority etc will mean a lot instead.

Please provide proper clarification(with circulars if possible)

Mate
I have selected as mts staff in customs department chennai. What are my future opportunities in this department. I have completed my be. Pls explain d nature of job that they will assign to me. Salary details. Pls guide me

@AntJJ- MTS job is a complete relaxed job that does not involve too much of responsibilities..as MTS does not have to sign on any office file etc. But yes it is too silly at times because you may have to FAX variour Tapals to different charges on immediate bass...even though Technology has moved to mails. Upon suggestion of mailing hgh-end info to officials of your charge, your officer would give you excuse saying that FAX is a part of office procedure and not FAX....ha ha....perhaps your officer does not know how to read/send mails so he said so :D

so basically you cant give your ideas, but yes you can use ur excel skills when needed if u get to type reports, letters.
salary CTC: 21,000 take home about 19,000

My suggestion: prepare for other exams after joining as MTS

Kya ssc mts ka pramotion ta post par hota hi or kya mts ko ssc ke or high level exams me benefit milta hai agar candidate graduat hai

in most departments promotion from MTS to TA takes 4 to 5 years minimum(acc to Govt rules) but then it may take more time if no vacany of TA exists in that Dept. There is no benefit in any posts in Govt jobs even though u r highly qualified. As long u fulfill the min edu qualification everything else just goes for a Toss!!! (e.g. even if u are an MBA who joined as MTS u wd b treated at par with a 10th pass as 10th pass is d min education qualification for MTS. All Saturdays are OFF Officially unless ur officer asks u to come down for pending/urgent/imp work(u wont b paid extra even if u come)
